OSAll Plans 1/4/00
Mike Hudack Editor-in-Chief
OSAll has come a long way, but people continue to ask me where itīs going in the future. Hereīs your first peek:
Right now, Iīm working extraodinarily hard for a company called Gematria, a start-up focusing on secure e-mail and anonymous Web browsing. Because of various NDAs, my position in the company, and the like, I canīt tell you much except that our lawyers, accountants and analysts say itīs going to be big -- bigger than big (William Shatner and Priceline, anybody?).
Iīm in the process of moving in with a friend in Queens, and turning the place into a huge research laboratory. Weīll have a nice, big Beowulf cluster, multiple Sun workstations, a T1 line, a darkroom, workbenches, and a couple beds (hey, canīt forget those).
Weīre also planning to open up a research facility of sorts in Brooklyn, with as many as a dozen people getting together to pay the rent. Thisīll be very cool, I guarentee you that.
As far as OSAll? Itīll continue to grow. Iīm bringing more and more people onboard to help out, and Iīm hardly forgetting about it. Granted, I update slightly less than I used to, but Iīve been working extra hard.
Look for at least one new column, several new features, information about my projects, and more methodology.
