The Last JP Thing To Appear on OSAll
---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Anonymous <nobody@replay.com> To: nolonger@here.taken.out.com Date: Fri, 1 Oct 1999 18:33:37 +0200 (CEST) Subject: John Vranesevich of AntiOnline Threatens To Sue Kroll-O'Gara for Simply _Linking_ To The Recent Forbes Article by Penenburg
JP up to his same old scare tactics and harassment. What an idiot. Does JP think that his top-notch Beaver, PA legal team *snicker* and $500,000 in VC funding (or was it only $75,000 in VC funding, JP?) is going to last long against the 2,000 lawyers that work for Kroll-O'Gara and the even larger legal department at Forbes?
FYI, JP sent the mail below to Jules Kroll, the Chairman and CEO of Kroll-O'Gara, to several of the @packetstorm.securify.com mail aliases, to several @kroll-ogara.com corporate addresses, and to the ISPs and upstream IPPs that Kroll-O'Gara and packetstorm.securify.com utilize.
Signed,
Nobody
P.S. We'll be cancelling all of our Digital Detective Workshop Registrations, and advising all of our clients, partners, and associates to do the same (since JP is the keynote speaker ... what a shame, Frank).

Greetings:
When Kroll-O'Gara acquired PacketStorm, it was my belief, and hope, that they would manage it in a professional, and corporate manner.
Now, low and behold, I visit the site today, only to find the type of slanderous remarks that one would expect from a site run by a young teenage hacker, not be a large corporation.
Packet Storm. The World's Largest Internet Security Resource.
Check out this excellent article by Penenburg in Forbes Magazine on the real story behind JP, AntiOnline and PSS. Also read the thread on slashdot.org
Just so that I have the record straight in my own mind, is it going to be Kroll-O'Gara's intention to attempt to defame myself or my company in the months to come? Because if it is, I would like to know in advance, so I have the opportunity to prepare myself.
I hope that the current administration of PacketStorm will behave in a more mature manner in the future, and not in one which appears to be designed to cause conflict between our two organizations.
Yours In CyberSpace,
John Vranesevich Founder, AntiOnline
