Future Hacks?
Mike Hudack Editor-in-Chief
Level Seven, a seven year old hacking group which has had some members raided by the FBI in the last few weeks, has informed OSAll they plan to hack several high profile sites next week (of June 14) or within the end of June (depending on whether they decide to space the defacements out or do them in one big spurt).
An anonymous member of Level Seven informed OSAll that they already have access accounts on a .gov server and will have a backdoor opened on a second .gov server in the next two days. The Level Seven member said "I am getting some dial-up #'s in my possesion possbily next week."
Level Seven has been campaigning for the release of members of gH (global Hell), a group which bore the brunt of the FBI raids in the past weeks. The most recent Level Seven defacements, which have been mirrored by Attrition (which is a member of the OSAll Network) have included a button similar to the Free Kevin bumper sticker, which reads "Free gH."
According to Level Seven, they plan to deface several high-traffic sites, although they refused to name the sites. They felt they could deface at least two high-traffic commercial sites and two government web sites.
In the past, OSAll has interviewed Level Seven co-president Vent. Since that interview, several individuals have come forward telling OSAll that Vent & Level Seven are nothing more than AOL warez kiddies. The fact is, however, that Level Seven has defaced more than a dozen sites and are therefore to be taken relatively seriously.
Only time will tell whether the Level Seven warning will turn out to be valid. In the mean time, however, this should serve as a warning for all commercial and government web sites to tighten security. |
