MoD, AntiOnline & Attrition
Mike Hudack Editor-in-Chief
For some time now, a war of sorts has been fought between AntiOnline, the hacker news site, and Attrition, something of a gathering point for some hackers. Attrition members claim to have identified some ammount of errata in some twenty percent of AntiOnline´s articles, according to the Negation page (an Attrition page specifically based on the AntiOnline errata).
JP, founder of AntiOnline, hasn´t fired many return shots at Attrition, besides ocassional off the cuff remarks about the site and some of its members -- and a recent article linking some Attrition members to something of a black helicopter conspiracy. According to the AntiOnline article, Attrition members Jericho and Modify (along with others) are linked to a plot to round up thousands of african americans in America.
The war, however, has heated up as of Monday, June 7. Attrition fired a broadside against AntiOnline, accusing it of either masterminding or at least being involved in the recent Senate.gov hack.
According to the Attrition article, the group that cracked Senate.gov (MOD) is actually made up of someone named so1o. The article then claims that so1o is a British citizen named Chris McNab. It is with this connection that Attrition prepares to strike the next blow -- that Chris McNab is, or at least has been, on the AntiOnline payroll.
OSAll called AntiOnline founder John Vranesevich for comment on Monday, but he declined to speak on the record.
You can read the entire text of the accusations at Attrition´s Negation site. In addition, you can read AntiOnline´s response at AntiOnline.com. Since the AntiOnline response, Bronc Buster has written an open letter to JP.
Editorial note: AntiOnline is a direct competitor with OSAll. In addition, OSAll has a working relationship with the Attrition Mirror -- which is called "a member of the OSAll network." All coverage of AntiOnline and Attrition will be carefully constructed and as unbiased as possible. |
