WarGames (VHS & DVD)
VHS: $8.99 / DVD: $17.49
A teenager uses his old XT and acoustic coupler to break into Cheyenne Mountainīs NORAD -- headquarters of North American defense. Itīs slightly unrealistic (just slightly <g>) but a helluvah lot of fun. This is the movie that got a lot of people interested in hacking back in the eighties. |

Sneakers (VHS & DVD)
VHS: $12.99 / DVD: $17.49
An unlikely story about the quest for a `black boxī which can decode any encryption. Itīs kinda funny, but itīs an enjoyable thriller and stuff -- with boy geniuses, the NSA and an ex-CIA guy. Sweet stuff all in all. |

Brazil (VHS & DVD)
VHS: $12.99 / DVD: $17.49
Itīs not a hacker flick... the computers are more typewriters with tiny little greenish screens attached (plus magnifying lens so you can see them from something of a distance). Written pre-computer revolution, this tale of a distopian world is superbly written by Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame. One of the best movies Iīve ever seen, it certainly effected my `hacker conscience.ī |

Hackers (VHS & DVD)
VHS: $82.44 / DVD: $17.49
Itīs largely derided by people who know as a piece of crap. Iīd tend to agree -- but it was a somewhat fun piece of crap. 2600 editor Emmanuel Goldstein consulted on this film (and even lent his name to the main character). Problem is, itīs not really about hackers -- itīs more about teenage ravers who happen to like increasingly unrealistic computer systems. |
